The folks over at .net magazine (Practical Web Design in the states) profiled me in their last issue and were generous enough to let me post the PDF from the magazine here for download. Man, I really need to get a new photo.

  Elliot Jay Stocks mentions writing for .NET magazine occasionally, which always had me puzzled. Turns out the magazine isn’t about Microsoft dev…

  The portfolio/client ranking issue was chuckleable.

  Cool stuff man, thanks for the PDF.

  Your creative process sounds a heck of a lot like mine.

  I try my best to look places other than the web for my inspiration, but when I start the creative process I end up taking the most time second guessing everything I do.

  Seems like the most productive times in the process last for 15 to 20 minutes and the rest is just working to those points of “inspiration.”

  Enjoyable read, bit short maybe! Glad to see them finally interview someone I know.

  Is there a transcript or recording of the talk you did in NZ anywhere? The thought of being able to treat a website like a magazine is pretty keen on its own but I’d be really interested in hearing or reading more about it.

  @ Rian Orie : I believe there is video on the Webstock site somewhere. Caution though, it was the first time giving that talk, so it’s a bit rough. In subsequent appearances at AEA, it changed and tightened up quite a bit. And, writing that talk was what gave me the drive to redo my site. I’m considering turning that talk into an article (probably for ALA).

  Rummaged around a bit on the Webstock site, pulling in the video now. (for those interested).

  I’ll be eyeballing my ALA feed in the weeks or months to come for that article ;)
